Notes : Directed by Stanley KUBRICK. U.S. Air Force General Jack Ripper goes completely and utterly mad, and sends his bomber wing to destroy the U.S.S.R. He suspects that the communists are conspiring to pollute the 'precious bodily fluids' of the American people. The U.S. president meets with his advisors, where the Soviet ambassador tells him that if the U.S.S.R. is hit by nuclear weapons, it will trigger a 'Doomsday Machine' which will destroy all plant and animal life on Earth. Peter Sellers portrays the three men who might avert this tragedy: British Group Captain Lionel Mandrake, the only person with access to the demented Gen. Ripper; U.S. President Merkin Muffley, whose best attempts to divert disaster depend on placating a drunken Soviet Premier and the former Nazi genius Dr. Strangelove, who concludes that 'such a device would not be a practical deterrent for reasons which at this moment must be all too obvious'. Will the bombers be stopped in time, or will General Jack Ripper succeed in destroying the world ?

Notes : Joey Drayton brings her fiancé, Dr. John Prentice, home to sunny San Francisco to meet her affluent parents. Their liberal persuasions are now put to the test, for although the young man is an ideal choice (he's highly and internationally respected in the medical field, and he's impeccably mannered, handsome, well dressed and of a respectable California family), he's black. The film, which covers one busy day in the Drayton home, is essentially a drawing-room comedy, a series of cross-conversations between the young doctor and the girl's parents, and finally between all sets of parents and offspring. A simple dinner is extended to include the doctor's parents, who fly up from Los Angeles for the evening, and the crusty but benevolent old Irish priest, a friend of the family.

Notes : Held by the police as a raving lunatic, Dr. Miles Bennell recounts to a psychiatrist the events that have turned his life upside down. He returned to his small town the previous Thursday, having been called back from a medical conference by his nurse, who was being flooded with patients. He arrives to find that most have canceled their appointments, but the few cases he does have all have the same story: someone close to them is acting strangely as if they had been replaced. Consulting some of his colleagues, he finds that these types of reports have been coming in all week and they conclude it must be some type of mass hysteria. However, when his friends Jack and Teddy Belicec show him a partly formed body they have uncovered in their home, he begins to realize that there may be some truth to the wild stories he has been hearing.

Notes : Vintage original 55 x 78” (140 x 200 cm.) Quattro folio poster, Italy. Vanessa Redgrave, Sarah Miles, David Hemmings, John Castle, Jane Birkin, Verushka, dir: Michelangelo Antonioni; MGM. Stunning and iconic images in a very large format dominates this poster with its’ rich red background. It is the story of a mod London photographer who believes he has photographed a murder. Forever controversial, and even hated, particularly when first released. Antonioni’s comment on society (particularly of the time), and human nature, is now considered a classic. The film was made by MGM in the UK under a newly created company called Premier Productions. Because this company had no agreement with the Production Code office (as MGM did), the frontal nudity and explicit scenes were allowed to remain in the film. Note that this poster from Italy got reissued in the early 70’s, but that reissue is undated, whereas this original Italian release poster has a correct 1967 date on it. This original is much harder to find and has become an iconic image. Also, original posters give the printer's name as ROTOLITO, while a few years later they changed the name to ROTOLITOGRAFICA. Our poster is from the true 1967 original first release printing by Rotolito. This original is much harder to find and has become an iconic image.LINEN_BACKED
