Diana Dors (1931-1984), was Britain's answer to Marilyn Monroe. Taken to the cinema & given dance lessons at a young age, Dors became obsessed with Hollwood in her early teens. Looking older than her years , she entered a beauty contest at 14 (giving her age as 17) and won a prize resulting in her photograph being published in the local paper. This led to weekly work as a photographer's model which, in turn, led to her involvement in local theatre productions. By the 1950's she was a household name, almost always typecast as a sexy siren - as in 'Blonde Sinner', 'Passposrt To Shame', and 'The Unholy Wife'* Dollar and Euro prices are approximate and for information purposes only.
