| Notes : Breakfast at Tiffany's (Paramount, 1961). Lobby Card (11' X 14').
Audrey Hepburn went on record saying she felt miscast as the character of Holly Golightly, but Breakfast at Tiffany's became one of her most popular roles regardless. The film co-starred George Peppard, Patricia Neal, Buddy Ebsen, Martin Balsam, and Mickey Rooney in a somewhat controversial role, at least by today's standards. Blake Edwards directed the film, a job that was originally intended for John Frankenheimer. Hepburn had never heard of Frankenheimer, and insisted someone more noteworthy be behind the camera - safe to say this could have been a very different movie if things went as originally planned. This portrait card is about as perfect of a representation from the film as you could ask for. LC#6. |

In this truly delightful film, Audrey Hepburn sparkles as Holly Golightly, a conflicted misfit with dreams of being the toast of New York. As she is close to losing everything, she is redeemed with the help of fellow lost soul and neighbor Paul Varjak (George Peppard). Written by Truman Capote and with an Oscar winning score by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer, this unforgettable film co-stars Patricia Neal and Buddy Ebsen. FRAMED. |

| Notes : Breakfast at Tiffany's is a 1961 romantic comedy film starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard. The film was directed by Blake Edwards and released by Paramount Pictures. It was loosely based on the novella of the same name by Truman Capote.
Hepburn's portrayal of Holly Golightly as the naïve, eccentric woman is generally considered to be the actress's most memorable and identifiable role. She herself regarded it as one of her most challenging roles, since she was an introvert required to play an extrovert.

Truman Capote's novel 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' was panned by the critics as being less weighty than his earlier work, but it proved to be one of the best-known novels of the 20th century after Blake Edwards brought it to the big screen. |

If only I were a Method player, huh? But the fact is, I didn't really believe in The Method. I believed in good casting. And I'm still not sure about Holly and me...' This was Audrey Hepburn's assessment of her performance in the role, many years later, of the outrageous Holly Golightly. But for millions of fans and many new ones each year, they are sure of her lovely portrayal of Truman Capote's unforgettably charming and heart-breaking Holly. |
