| Notes : Lawrence of Arabia (Columbia, 1962). French Grande (47' X 63').
Although David Lean began his career as an editor in the British cinema, he was to make his lasting impression in the movies as a director of quality epics. He won two Oscars for Best Direction for his work on The Bridge on the River Kwai and Lawrence of Arabia, and was the recipient of a lifetime achievement award from the American Film Institute in 1990. This film has been heralded as a true masterpiece of the cinema and has inspired filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. Offered here is a very colorful French grande with Georges Kerfyser art.The story of T.E. Lawrence, a flamboyant and controversial British military figure and his conflicted loyalties during his World War I service in the Middle East.

This original French 47 x 63' Grande is one of Bardot's most asked for country-of-origin posters. 'Nouvelle Vague' (French New Wave) 'auteur' Jean-Luc Godard received his first big budget and his first big star and went about creating one of his very best films. |

 |
| Notes : Art by SAUL BASS, Directed by Otto Preminger. The movie’s theme was the struggle of its hero - a jazz musician played by Frank Sinatra - to overcome his heroin addiction. Designed by the graphic designer Saul Bass the titles featured an animated black paper-cut-out of a heroin addict’s arm. Knowing that the arm was a powerful image of addiction, Bass had chosen it – rather than Frank Sinatra’s famous face - as the symbol of both the movie’s titles and its promotional poster.
